C. Apply for Benefits
When you have little time after your arrival in Saskatoon or Canada, check this out. There are some government benefits that you and your family members will be eligible for. This is really nice thing about this country. I am going to list the benefits that I know of and you can check more details from the relevant website.
Some people don’t know about these benefits at all. Some people don’t care about it. Some people have no way of knowing about these benefits. Here, I am helping you with what I know. So…take action.
1. Child Tax Benefit:
The Canada Child Tax Benefit is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help them with the cost of raising children under age 18. Once you come to Saskatoon or Canada, you can apply for this. For families on student visa, situation will be different. But, please read the information from the following link;

2. GST credit:
“GST is a tax that you pay on most goods and services sold or provided in Canada. In some provinces, GST has been blended with provincial sales tax and is called HST. The GST/HST credit helps individuals and families with low and modest incomes offset all or part of the GST or HST that they pay. We will base your credit on the number of children you have and on your family net income. This information is also used to calculate payments from related provincial programs. To receive the GST/HST credit, you have to apply for it.” – Canada Revenue Agency.
“In the year you became a resident of Canada, you may be entitled to the GST/HST credit issued after your arrival. For more information, see Form RC151, GST/HST Credit Application for Individuals Who Become Residents of Canada.”
–Canada Revenue Agency.
